Dena Chapman

Freelance Writer | Editor | Author | Writing Coach

Ever since Dena Chapman was a little girl, she loved books: while the neighborhood kids were outside playing, Dena was indoors lost in the adventures and characters of a book. Her love for books eventually inspired a love for writing and ever since then, writing has been a central part of her life’s journey.

Dena has a vast array of writing and editing credentials to compliment her portfolio. She is a gifted devotion writer for Trinity United Church of Christ’s Devotion Writing Team. She is a
seasoned blogger and a print and digital journalist. Dena is a contributing writer for Bronzeville Life, a quarterly print and digital newsmagazine featuring the best of Chicago’s African American art, culture, history and local politics.

On Juneteenth (2020) in the midst of the pandemic, Dena took a leap of faith and launched her very first editing business, Precision Editing, LLC. Precision Editing offers an array of editing services and coaching for aspiring authors.

Dena’s greatest joy in life is being the proud parent of two brilliant, beautiful young adults: Joshua and Malachi.
